Artist Reception – Matthew Williamson

Join us on Tuesday, July 18 at 6:30 pm for a reception with Matt Williamson of Matthew Williamson Photography & Video. Meet the local photographer whose work is currently on display in the library gallery and talk with him about his work. Refreshments will be provided.

Matt, the owner of Matthew Williamson Photography & Video, grew up in Cuba, NY on a dairy farm. He began doing photography in middle school, and opened his first photography studio in town, photographing his first wedding at 17. He also worked for the Cuba Patriot. He served 4 years in the army to earn money for college, and later attended Antonelli Art Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating, he opened a photography business in Cincinnati, where he gained experience in a wide range of photography and clientele which included national ad campaigns, school portraits, sports, radio station events and concerts, weddings, high school seniors, and families and children. In 2006 he moved back to Cuba and started Williamson Photography in January 2007. In 2011, he met wife Jenny and she became part of the photography team. In 2013, son Jonah also joined the team as their videographer.

The photography currently on display is part of the 2019 Artists Among Us Program presented by The Fountain Arts Center, and its host sites.

Funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program with support from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered through the Cattaraugus County Arts Council.
