Making Sense of “Fake News” & Real Journalism

Join us Tuesday, January 15 at 6:30 p.m. for a presentation with Aaron Chimbel, the dean of St. Bonaventure’s Jandoli School of Communication. Mr. Chimbel will help us understand what is meant by fake news and the role journalists and citizens play in being well informed.

Prior to joining the St. Bonaventure faculty in August, Chimbel taught journalism at Texas Christian University, his alma mater, for 9 years. Chimbel has taught a wide variety of journalism classes and focuses on the industry shift to digital delivery of news, as well as broadcast journalism.

Before joining the TCU faculty full-time, Chimbel worked at WFAA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth. He was hired as likely the first person at any television station to produce original video content for the Web as the “MoJo” or mobile journalist for

Chimbel was also a reporter for KWTX-TV (Waco-Temple-Killeen, Texas) and a producer at Texas Cable News.
