Tidying Up in the Library

Thanks to Marie Kondo’s recent book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and her affiliated television show, the last several years has seen a craze for the art of organization. One of the most contentious of Kondo’s directives is her advice to own no more than 30 books if possible—a nightmare for book lovers! But even bibliophiles have a long history of “tidying up” their invaluable collections. Join us Tuesday, February 26 at 6:30 pm for a talk by Dr. Megan Walsh, a professor of English at St. Bonaventure University  that looks back in time to consider the fraught history of library organization, especially at the turn of the twentieth century when people first began to embrace the methods of book sorting that we still use today.
