DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday\, Sept. 23\, at 6:30 p.m.\, for a presentati
 on by Miaoli Zhang\, that will focus on three generations of women in Chin
 a\, beginning with life prior to the establishment of new China in 1949 an
 d continuing to the present day. It will discuss the practices of foot-bin
 ding\, marriage\, education\, as well as work experiences during those tim
 es.\n\nMiaoli Zhang worked for twenty-five years in the Department of Anat
 omy at a major medical university in China. She did electron and optical m
 icroscopy\, winning the Fuji Prize at the 5th Japanese Medical Association
 ’s Annual Medical Photo Show in Tokyo. For ten years afterward she worke
 d for Olympus of China\, training doctors and professors in microscopic ph
 otography before moving to the U.S.\, where she briefly taught Chinese and
  Chinese culture\, part-time at Jamestown Community College.
