SUMMARY:Making Movies
DESCRIPTION:Teens ages 15 & up are invited to join us for a short class ser
 ies exploring the process of Making Movies. These classes will take place 
 on Thursdays\, April 2\, 10\, 17 & 24\, and teens should plan to attend al
 l four sessions. Seminar attendees will learn cinematic language through a
  combination of lecture and practical exercises to understand how motion p
 ictures are planned\, produced\, and finished. This series is meant to exp
 ose students who are considering either a career in entertainment or film 
 school to the industry requisites and to make them educated users and cons
 umers of video-based information. The seminar will be lead by Charlie Myer
 s\, a lecturer at California State University\, Long Beach with experience
  as a consultant in the film industry. This program is free\, but registra

 il cuba@stls.org to sign up. \n\nCharles Myers has worked as crew on over 
 60 motion pictures including feature films\, television\, pilots\, as well
  as hundreds of commercials.  He has also worked at most of the major stu
 dios and built theme park attractions globally and other projects such as 
 the restoration of Grauman's Chinese Theater. While a professor at Saddleb
 ack College and California State University Long Beach\, hundreds of Charl
 es' students have gone on to careers in entertainment including several Ac
 ademy Award nominees and two winners.\n
