SUMMARY:Penny Pinchers' Party
DESCRIPTION:Join Miss Cherilyn on Monday\, March 31 at 6:30 pm at the Cuba 
 Library for a Family Financial Literacy Game. Participants in family teams
  will be in charge of planning a themed party. Kids become party planners\
 , creating Planning Boards for their clients while staying on budget. With
  a budget of $100\, the players take turns selecting items from a party wa
 rehouse managed by the program facilitator. After five turns\, players sha
 re their plans with the group and explain their choices. This game helps c
 hildren understand what a budget is and how it is useful\, understand basi
 c business relationships\, and understand that value can differ from cost 
 (i.e.\, that fun does not necessarily mean expensive\, or vice versa). Thi
 s game is geared toward children ages 5-12 but since each family will be a
  team\, all ages are welcome. The materials for this program were provided
  by a grant from ALA and FINRA.
