Join us Saturday, August 12 from 10 am – 1pm at Cuba Library and learn about leather tooling with Clifford Redeye. Learn to make a leather valet tray which involves carving, tooling, and dyeing. Participants will carve and tool an image from a Seneca story into the leather. All supplies will be provided. This class is open to adults, and there is a $5 fee to participate. Clifford Redeye is an Onodowa’ga:’ Seneca artist from the Allegany Territory. He is a self-taught leather worker who specializes in tooling. He has been working with leather for about 10 years. He has had pieces in various art shows including the Ganondagan juried art show, the Seneca National Iroquois Museum juried art show, and the Woodland Cultural Center art show. He has also been the featured artist at the Onohsagwe:de’ Cultural Center in Salamanca, NY.
