Get a Library Card
LIBRARY CARDS
Cuba Circulating Library is dedicated to providing for the intellectual and recreational needs of our patrons. We offer a variety of online and physical resources, including books, eBooks, movies, video games, audiobooks, online magazines, research databases, library computers and more.
Cards are issued without charge to people age 5 & over. Patrons between the ages of 5 and 12 must have a parent or legal guardian as a co-registrant. Summer & temporary residents are welcome to register.
Your library card may be used at any library in the Southern Tier Library System, which includes the 48 libraries in Allegany, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Yates counties. You may also request items from these libraries and have them sent here for checkout.
Digital Cards
Digital Cards are available for those who do not plan to use their card in the library. With a digital library card, you can access digital magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks from OverDrive on your computer or the Libby app on your mobile devices. Visit https://starcat.stls.org/custom/web/registration/index.html to register for a digital only card.

LIBRARY CARD REQUIREMENTS
What Do You Need to Get a Library Card?
Government issued photo identification and proof of your current address must be shown at the time of registration.
Typically this would be a Driver’s License with your current address, a Non-Driver Photo ID, or a Passport. If your ID does not have your current address, a copy of your lease or a piece of mail such as a utility bill postmarked within 30 days is also acceptable proof of address. We can also mail a library postcard and that can be brought in as proof of address.
Youth
For youth under the age of 16, or youth between the ages of 16 and 18 who do not have proper identification, proof of identification must be provided by the parent/guardian. The parent/guardian should be present when the application is submitted, unless the child is on a school sponsored visit to the library.
Please note that per our Patron and Records Confidentiality Policy, which is based on New York State law, staff are unable to share the records of a minor, including their registration information and checkout records, even to their parent or guardian without the minor’s written consent. Signing a minor’s card application only shows acceptance of fines and fees; it does not exempt parents or guardians from New York law.
