Is It Possible to Stay Happy and Sane in Today’s Crazy World?

During challenging, depressing, and stressful times, the pursuit of happiness can seem impossible or inappropriate. Join us at the Cuba Library on Wednesday, January 14 at 6:30 p.m. for a program with Chuck Walker. He says, “Having studied the subject of psychological well-being for a couple of decades, I can say with a bit of confidence that there are many things you can do to elevate your mood and help you, your family, and friends to cope more effectively with loneliness, boredom, fear, and anxiety. I will suggest some feasible specific things you can begin doing immediately if you are at all serious and deliberate about pursuing the happiness of yourself and others.” This program is free and open to the public.

Chuck Walker received a BS from the Univ. of Pittsburgh and a PhD from Adelphi University. He was a Professor of Psychology for 44 years at St. Bonaventure University, where he served as both chair of the Psychology dept. and Assistant Dean of Arts and Sciences. Because of his research on happiness, he was invited as a speaker at the Global Summit on Human Well-Being in Washington DC and asked by the Prime Minister of Bhutan to be a panelist on Human Happiness and Well-Being at the United Nations.
