Have you ever wondered what it takes to make your own kombucha? Patrons ages 16 & up are invited to join us at the Cuba Library on Wednesday, May 13 from 6 – 7:30 pm as Erica Moses talks about the basics of making kombucha. This kombucha demonstration covers everything you need to start brewing at home. Participants will learn what a SCOBY is and how yeast and bacteria work together to ferment tea, the history of kombucha, equipment basics, why tea selection matters, how to start your first batch, the difference between single batch and continuous brewing methods, and how to flavor and bottle your finished kombucha. This program is free but in order to gauge participation registration is required. Please contact Cuba Library at (585) 968-1668 or email cuba@stls.org to sign up.
