
Historian and author Suzanne Simon Dietz will present an authentic local story, The In-Law Diaries 1867 – 1868 Sawyer & Frary, Hubbardston, MA, to Rawson, NY. Discover history from the West Almond Cheese Factory to the Higgins Tavern on County Road 20, a dairy farm in Friendship, rural agriculture in the Town of Lyndon after the Civil War, and the connection to the early chair making center of Hubbardston, Massachusetts. Dietz served as historian for the Town of Porter, home to Old Fort Niagara and the Buffalo Aero Club, and published more than twenty historical works. Her publication My True Course, the official biography for the navigator of the Enola Gay that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, won the 2013 silver medal from the National Military Writer’s Society.
