Oceans of Possibilities – Summer Reading 2022

Teens – Weaving

Teens 13 – 18 were invited to make their woven wall hanging using yarn, ribbons, beads, and recycled materials. This class was taught by Gabrielle Egnater from Allegany Arts Association.

Rag Wreaths

Anyone ages 13 & up was invited to sign up for a night of crafting with local artist Patience Wnek. Attendees learned to make a rag wreath using fabric scraps and a canning jar lid.

Braided Mug Rugs

Patrons ages 6 & up were invited to learn the skills of rug braiding. In the class students used fabric to make a braided mat that can be used as a trivet, or a mug rug.

Teens – Screen Printing

Teens, guided by artist Gabrielle Finn Egnator, were able to come design and make their own tote bag using simple screen printing techniques. Teens also used construction paper to print posters of their designs.

Alcohol Ink Water Bottles

Patrons in attendance learned to use alcohol inks to make beautiful designs on glass water bottles. Students were also be able to create paintings on yupo paper using the alcohol inks. The class was taught by library assistant Shauna Comes.
