In celebration of Library Card Sign-Up Month, join us at the Cuba Library on Wednesday, September 24 at 6 pm for a showing of the PBS documentary Free for All: The Public Library, and learn how public libraries shaped a nation and remain a beloved sanctuary for Americans today. This film tells the story of the quiet revolutionaries who made a simple idea happen. From the pioneering women behind the “Free Library Movement” to today’s librarians who service the public despite working in a contentious age of closures and book bans, meet those who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all.Following the documentary, a panel of trustees and staff will answer questions and share anecdotes about the library. This program is free and open to all.
Come dressed as your favorite book character, or librarian, for a chance to win library swag!
