Besides reading 3 – 4 books each week, there will be songs, movement, games, crafts, and playtime. This time helps acclimate your child to a classroom-like setting in a fun, flexible way. The group will have some STEAM activities incorporated throughout the year. Space is very limited and registration is required.

The Page Turners Book Discussion Group meets for about an hour at 1:30 p.m. on the second or third Wednesday of each month, September through June. The group reads literary fiction, classics and popular nonfiction. The discussions are led by a trained leader and are lively and fun! Let the Library staff know if you would like to participate and they will order the selected book for you.

Through JA Personal Finance, students ages 13 – 18 experience the interrelationship between today’s financial decisions and future financial freedom. To achieve financial health and wellness, they learn about money-management strategies, including earning, employment and income, budgeting, savings, credit and debt, consumer protection, smart shopping, risk management, and investing. At the conclusion of this program, students will be able to identify how their personal finances affect their quality of life. They will understand how their financial choices will be the basis of how they get what they want and need. Our program at the Cuba Library will run on Wednesdays, January 8, 15, 22, 29, & February 5 & 12 from 3:30 – 4:30 pm. Registration is required, and attendance at all sessions is strongly suggested. These classes will take place on Wednesdays, January 15, 22, & February 5 & 12 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Students should bring a good pair of fabric scissors to class. There is a $10 materials fee for the class, which is open to those ages 16 & up. Space in the class is limited and registration is required, so please contact the Cuba Library to sign up. Please note that this class will be held at the Cuba-Rushford Middle High School building. Please note that preference will be given to those who have not previously taken this class.

We will be covering library resources and Internet-based streaming services, such as Roku and Amazon Prime. We will also learn about Smart TVs. This event will take place in the Library’s community room. No registration required.

The Cuba Library is pleased to announce a new monthly book group. Books & Brews will meet the fourth Thursday of every month at different establishments around town. That’s right, your library at a bar or coffee shop! Titles will include bestselling fiction and nonfiction by popular authors. Engage in great discussion while being able to enjoy appetizers, dinner, and drinks (although purchase is not necessary to participate in book club).  Check the book discussion group page for further information.

Stylish Succulents Class at the Cuba Library Beautify your space and your face! On Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m. the Cuba invites you to create beautiful succulent terrariums as well as lip and face scrubs. The library will have all supplies available, although you are welcome to bring your own small pot or jar if you have one you prefer to use for planting your succulents. This class is for adults and does require registration, so please call the library at 585-968-1668 to sign up. There is a $5 materials fee.
